I'm Overdue, I'm In A Rabbit Stew...

Boy do I feel sheepish.

I am long overdue on a few thank yous for recent acknowledgements from blog friends. With the holiday hoopla and family obligations requiring me to be on the road for much of January, I let my gratefulness for such kind awards be placed on the back burner.

With each award there are always rules-- a list of recipients, or facts about one's self.  The recent Reintroduce Yourself blogfest allowed me to show you a bit of me, so I think I'll let that suffice for other random facts I could tell you about me. And although some awards require a list of recipients to pass along the award to, since I'm woefully behind in my thank yous, I will limit my nominations for each category this time around.

Yes, I'm a sloth.

Thank you to all the kind and generous nominations and recognitions. It warms my heart very much.

Thank You!

Thank you to M.L. Swift who honored me with the fun Very Inspiring Blogger Award. It's a cool badge and I appreciate the sentiment-- I don't always feel very inspiring!

Thank you to Wendi Nitschmann, author of the great blog, What The Focus, and El Adams, at From The Writer's Nest for the cool Liebster badge and award.

Thank you to Misha Gericke at My First Book, and the person who sweetly nominated me for the Most Encouraging Blogger award -- this is a humbling category and one I'm so glad to be a part of.

A big thanks to Al Diaz, the warm-fuzzy dragon from Father Dragon Writes for the very sweet Cutie Pie Award (how cute is that badge?).

Thank you Amy Miller from ADDled, a very funny and inspiring blog, for the Versatile Blogger award given for this blog and my other blog, In Fine Company. You are appreciated Amy!

And finally (but not least!) a big hug and thank you to Chris Dean over at Life Your Way for the cool, new Liebster badge and nod.

I feel so hugged.

Time for me to do a little squeezin' back. Please note, this is my way of acknowledging blogs I like to read, people who are especially supportive-- it in no way obligates the recipient to accept or place the badge on their blog or participate.

And The Awards Go to...

For this Liebster Badge award, I nominate Sarah Allen from the wonderful blog From Sarah, With Joy. I love her blog. She writes with candid honesty, humor and insight. I look forward to each post!

I nominate both Chris Dean from Life Your Way and Alexandra Casselle from Rhet Effects for the Very Inspiring Blog award. Both are such fantastic blogs, and I encourage you to drop by and visit each. The heart of both of these women shines through in everything they write-- you'll quickly learn why they fit this category.

I have three nominations for the Cutie Pie Award-- each for their support and friendship and being my go-to "peeps" (as my daughter would say) when I need to talk things out. TJ Loveless at Writing From the Padded Room, Julia Munroe Martin from Wordsxo, and Laura Eno who can be found at Laura Eno

For the other Liebster Badge (share the joy!) I nominate my friends and fantastic authors Kym and Mark Todd at Write In The Thick of Things. The are a powerful writing duo, authors of the book All Plucked Up, sharing their journey of writing. Please check out their blog.

Finally, I'd like to nominate M.L. Swift at M.L. Swift, Writer and Rob Akers at robakers for the Versatile Blogger Award for their interesting and varied blog topics. I'd also like to nominate Susie Klein at Recovering Church Lady for her open dialogue on faith written with honesty, warmth and humor.

Phew! SO many hugs. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.

Keep writing-- because you all are so fantastic and appreciated,

Julie

    1. I'm honestly embarrassed to be 1) so behind and 2) clumping them like this. But I do appreciate the thoughts and people behind each one.

  2. Thanks, Julie. All the ones you received are so well-deserved. And the blogs that you've passed them to are, as well. I appreciate the nod of versatility. I think my scrambling for something to write comes across as versatility instead of veering off the map and hopping back on. Thanks again.

    1. Oh that's funny-- I totally get being able to have a topic to write about in the blog. I hated doing it this way but my slothfulness forced the issue. Thanks for your positive reinforcement scolding PRS. ;)

  12. Julie,

I really appreciate the honor and the recognition. Like most everyone, I hope to be interesting and always try to find the positive aspects of all topics to highlight. There is so much negative in the world, but I believe that the positive spirits surround us. We just have to look with open eyes.

I would love to be able to write about just one topic like writing, but there are so many wonderful sites like yours. Your ability to craft words so little effort, intimidate me. That is why I chose topics that are mostly opinion based to write about. I have found that in life, once you find your niche. Then you can exploit it. Julie, you have a wonderful niche and I love how you exploit it.

Thank you again for the positive thoughts and I really appreciate everything you are doing in your part of the world. Now it is time for me to get to work.

    1. Rob, I love the varied topics you approach with humor, gentleness, conviction and passion. And I agree, there are a lot of blogs that talk about writing-- I've actually been backing off that a bit on here and have developed another blog to explore different areas. Kudos to you for finding your path.
